HTK firmly believes in putting innovation to work. Over the years, HTK engineers have created efficient and effective solutions to special demands of the subsea environment. In 1994 HTK Consultants,
Inc. formed HTK Subsea Services to design and fabricate specialty drilling and completion products. These include: netguards,
multi-well templates, mud mats, wellhead stabbing bullets, centralizers and other
project and client-specific products.
HTK's Subsea Netguards provide economical and dependable wellhead protection. Its pyramid design allows trawl nets, cables, chains and anchors to pass freely over a wellhead or pipe stub. There are no rough edges or sharp corners. Netguards are solid plate steel designed to accommodate up to
two 30" OD conductors on 7' 6" centers. Unlike other subsea wellhead protection currently on the market, the HTK Subsea Netguards
are easily transported in three pieces with a maximum width of 8' 0". No special trucking permits are required. One man can quickly assemble the netguard either at the shorebase or on the transport vessel. Netguards include slings and shackles that remain attached after the unit is in place. HTK also offers Mini-Netguards for shorter pipe stubs in shallow waters.
HTK designed the Subsea Mudmat to attach below the operator's temporary guide base for support and stability during floating drilling operations. It is a 14' square that breaks into
two (2) 7' x 14' easily transportable halves that bolt together in the moon pool. Flooring of treated
2 x 6 lumber provides further support in soft bottom areas. If bottom suction hinders removal, this flooring material simply breaks away for effortless retrieval of the Mudmat frame.
HTK Subsea Templates allow contractors to drill an additional exploratory well adjacent to an already existing well. The
2-Well Template is
4' 6" wide and 12' long with well guides on 7' 6" centers. One side of this template unbolts for easy
installation under a Texas deck and around an existing well. Lowering the template to the seafloor is accomplished either by using a bridled cable or an optional J-slot running tool. The HTK Subsea 4-well Template consists of two 2-well templates flanged together by a
3' x 3' flanged spacer and lowered to the seafloor on drill pipe using the J-slot running tool. It is oriented by a mule shoe and gyro survey run on drill pipe. |
