The HTK Subsea Template was designed to allow for the drilling of an additional exploratory well adjacent to an already existing well. The HTK Subsea 2-Well Template is 4´ 6" wide x 12´ long with the well guides on 7´ 6" centers (other well spacings are available). One side of the template unbolts for easy installation under a Texas deck and around an existing well. Lowering the template to the seafloor is accomplished either by using a bridled cable or an optional J-slot running tool. The HTK Subsea 4-Well Template is comprised of two 2-Well templates flanged together by a 3´ x 3´ flanged spacer and lowered to the seafloor on drill pipe using the J-slot running tool. Orientation of the template is achieved by means of a mule shoe and gyro survey run on drill pipe.
